Słońce to główna waluta podczas poziomów w serii gier Plants vs. Zombies. Dzięki słońcu możemy stawiać rośliny, a w niektórych minigrach także zombie. Spada co jakiś czas z nieba (nie licząc poziomów nocnych). Generują je Sunflowery, Twin Sunflowery, Sun-shroomy, Toadstoole (po przeżuciu zombie), Primal Sunflowery, Moonflowery i Gold Bloomy. Wypada również z zombie zarażonych przez Sun Beana po otrzymaniu obrażeń. W Lost City i niektórych poziomach Modern Day pojawiają się specjalne pola produkujące dodatkowe słońca dopóki stoi na nich jakaś roślina (w Lost City gracz może używać Gold Leafów do tworzenia dodatkowych pól).
